Gregory D. Barrett, director, is our Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer.  Prior to joining Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia, Mr. Barrett worked for United Community Bank and its predecessors, First Bank of the South and Lanier Community Bank.  Mr. Barrett’s responsibility at United Community Bank was the management of the credit analysis process for the ten community banks comprising the Atlanta, Georgia, region.  Prior to joining Lanier Community Bank in February of 2005, Mr. Barrett was employed by Regions Bank in Gainesville, Georgia, where he served as the Group Credit Officer for Northeast Georgia.  Mr. Barrett began his banking career in 1998 at SunTrust Bank in Gainesville, Georgia, as a management trainee and rose to Vice President of Commercial Banking.  Mr. Barrett earned his B.B.A. in Finance from North Georgia College.  Mr. Barrett is a member of Gainesville First United Methodist Church, a member of the Gainesville Kiwanis Club, has served on several Hall County Friends of Scouting Campaigns, past member of the Corporate Board of Directors and Advisory Board of Directors of Challenged Child and Friends, Inc., past United Way of Hall County Campaign District Chairman, past member of the Gainesville Middle School Local Advisory Council, and was selected as the 2001-2002 Gainesville Jaycee of the Year.

Thomas C. Healan, is our Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  Mr. Healan was the founding Chief Financial Officer of Lanier Community Bank, which was started in 2003 and later merged into the First Bank of the South.  Prior to joining Lanier Community Bank, Mr. Healan served in various capacities at several banks in northeast Georgia for over 13 years.  Mr. Healan is a graduate of the University of Georgia and the Georgia Banking School.  Mr. Healan is past chairman and current member of the Georgia Banker’s Association Operations and Technology Committee.

Charlie J. Lail, Jr., director, is our President and Chief Executive Officer.  He has 19 years of commercial banking experience and has served business customers in the northern Gwinnett and Hall County, Georgia, markets for the past 12 years. Prior to joining Chattahoochee Bank of Georgia, he was Senior Vice President and Senior Lending Officer for Quantum National Bank, where he began working in April 2003. From 1995 to 2003, Mr. Lail was employed by SunTrust Bank, Northeast Georgia, where he rose to the position of Senior Vice President and was at various times responsible for the bank’s commercial banking, residential construction lending and business banking efforts in Hall and Forsyth Counties. Mr. Lail began his banking career with SunTrust Bank (f/k/a Trust Company Bank of Cobb County) in 1988 after leaving active military service.  Mr. Lail is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, where he received a degree in Engineering, and Georgia State University College of Law, where he received a Juris Doctorate degree. Mr. Lail served five years in the U.S. Army, followed by 16 years in the Georgia Army National Guard, retiring from military service in 2004. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.  Mr. Lail is a member of First Baptist Church of Sugar Hill.  He is the current President of the North Gwinnett Kiwanis Club, and has been actively involved in the Greater Hall County Chamber of Commerce, the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, and as a youth soccer coach for the Atlanta Fire United soccer club.

Stephen W. Starke, director, is our Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer.  Mr. Starke has over 15 years of commercial banking experience, most recently serving as a Senior Vice President and Commercial Lender for United Community Bank in Buford, Georgia.  Mr. Starke was the former Senior Credit Officer and Senior Lender for Lanier Community Bank in Buford, Georgia until the bank was acquired in December of 2005 by First Bank of the South k/n/a United Community Bank.   Prior to joining Lanier Community Bank, Mr. Starke was a First Vice President with SunTrust Bank’s Commercial Group in Gainesville.  Mr. Starke earned his B.B.A. from the University of Georgia and his M.B.A. from Auburn University.   Mr. Starke is a past President and current member of the South Hall Kiwanis Club.  Mr. Starke has served as the Chairman of the Buford Friends of Scouting Fund Raising Campaign, Chairman of the Adopt-A-Park Committee for the Greater Hall Chamber, Finance Chairman for Keep Hall Beautiful, and is a 1999 graduate of Leadership Hall County.
